Household Abstractions
This project explores the fundamentals of photographic composition. I decided to focus on basic materials such as glass and metal, things that would be challenging to photograph. I used the shapes, curves, and repetition of structure in different household materials to create an abstract form of photography. Light played a large role in this project, giving these normal, everyday objects a sense of drama through shadows and highlights. My goal was to allow the viewer, and myself, to look at the objects I chose in a different way, a way that would celebrate the simple, yet complex composition of basic household items.

Awesome! I love photos of simple things that become outstanding because of the artist’s savvy eye for a good shot. Well done.
